In a whole new world via scuba diving - The Star
MEOR Khairi Mohd Said has no regrets about taking up scuba
diving three years ago. The underwater hobby is now his way of
relaxing. “It’s an interesting activity that gives me the
feeling of being in another world,” he said when met after a
diving training session at the Panasonic Sports Centre in Shah
Alam. As an employee of the sports centre, Meor Khairi was used
to seeing people training in the sport at the centre’s pool.

Scuba Diving to watch fishes - The Star
IT WAS her
admiration of and fascination with fish that prompted Irene Lian
to venture
into scuba diving.Today, after six months of training, the
23-yearold Lian has successfully completed scuba-diving stints
off Pulau Redang, Pulau Tioman and Pulau Perhentian.
And, the jovial lass is looking forward to more underwater
adventure in Phuket and Sipadan next year. Lian said it was
curiosity that motivated her to attend a scuba-diving course.

Big turnout for swimming meet - The Star
THE three-day
Selangor age group championships, starting at the Darul Ehsan
Aquatic Centre in Shah Alam tomorrow, has attracted 438
swimmers, including a contingent
of nine from Uzbekistan. Selangor coach Ong Jin Koon said they
were delighted with the response from clubs in the Klang Valley.
Dolphins Sports will be making their debut in the championships.
Dolphins Sports, who are based at the Matsushita Sports Centre (MSC)
in Shah Alam, have several promising swimmers.

Responder in Action - Emergency First Responder
A child of about 12 years old standing at the edge of the
shallow end of the pool looking at a submerged child who was
face down on the bottom. Then, with the assistance
of Ng and their colleague Lee Boon Leong, checked for
responsiveness. Lee took the lead and, after finding no obvious
signs of life, alerted EMS. He then opened the airway and began
rescue breathing and CPR. It was confirmed later that day that
the child recovered and was in a stable condition.

Quartet impress in swimming meet - The Star
FOUR swimmers – Tan Su Ee, Lim Yan Li, Wong Kok Hoong and Low
Bing Shium were named best performers in the recent Dolphin Care
Swimming Club inaugural age group swimming championships. The
half-day event, held at the Matsushita Sports Complex, drew 400
swimmers.

Taking to it like duck on water - The Star
SWIMMING has become an enjoyable activity for pupils from SK
Seksyen 9, Shah Alam. Forty of these pupils have signed up as
members of the school’s swimming club. The school's
co-curriculum senior assistant Ong Eng Too said, the pupils aged
nine to 12, were currently training at the Panasonic Sports
Centre in Shah Alam. Their instructors are from Dolphin Sports,
based at the centre with B.L Lee as chief instructor.
