Swimming Classes for children (5 to 11 years olds)
At DSA, we teach children a wide range of skills, which results in competent, confident and safe swimmers who will have a love of swimming and a skill base to develop further techniques in a wide range of water-based sports.
Professional, highly trained, motivated instructors who are passionate about teaching swimming deliver the Kids Swimming Program. All our lessons are safe, fun, progressive and comprehensive. All swimmers are given a swimming lesson Progress Card that allows parents/guardians to continually monitor their child's progress and keep in touch with what is being delivered during a lesson. All swimmers are continuously assessed and certificate is awarded when achieved.
Just as all children do not learn to walk, talk or read at the same age, nor do they learn to swim at the same rate. At DSA we do not place any accelerated expectations ahead of the student’s actual readiness to learn a skill. All students learn to kick when they swim – but some do it on the first day, while others do it only after a great deal of time, motivation and practice. Being able to swim on the first day doesn’t make one student better, smarter or stronger than another student who learn later – it simply means they are different and unique individuals. Students are not pressurized or pushed to perform, but guided to develop their skills at rate they are comfortable with.
Adult Swimming & Fitness Lessons (12 year olds & above)
It is never too late to learn to swim or to improve already acquired skills. Swimming is one of the best ways to keep fit as when you swim you use many of the muscles in your body with very little stress on your joints.
Adult lessons are tailored to suit the individual within a group of swimmers of a similar ability. Whether you just want to complement your gym workout with a water fitness session or students want to take part in a triathlon, these sessions are great for improving their overall fitness, stamina and stroke. Adults must be able to swim atleast 50m of a recognized stroke.
