Young and enthusiastic, Cyrena loves to teach swimming and she holds the Federation Internationale De Natation (FINA) Coaching Level 2 and the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM) Coaching Level 1 certification. She is also a member of the of Life Saving Society of Malaysia (LSSM) and the International Life Saving (ILS) Federation from Belgium.

An accomplished diver, Cyrena Yong is also a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, having been the youngest woman Instructor in Malaysia, she has more than 500 logged dives over the years. She teaches diving to high standards and her responsibilities are to organize domestic and international diving trips for all level of divers and to advise customers on scuba gear and equipment. Cheerful and ever smiling, Cyrena is well loved by all her students, from tiny tots to adults.

Bryan Yap, a young father, has been teaching swimming to many children and adults since he was 14 years old. He holds the Federation Internationale De Natation (FINA) Coaching Level 2 and is passionate about little ones being able to swim and ensuring their safety in the water all their lives.

He truly believes it is possible for a young child as young as 2 weeks old to be taught skills that will give them a fighting chance in the event of an accident. Early swimming lessons have been documented to potentially increase a child’s mental capacity, intelligence and concentration while also having positive effects on social, emotional and physical development.

Bryan is extending his professional capability in working with children by currently obtaining a Diploma in Child Disorder Management & Child Development, Child Psychology, Language Phonetics, and Counseling.

Christopher Chiu

Ever active, Chris is an EFR Instructor who always has the thirst for more. Having started his diving career at the age of 27, he realizes the importance of Emergency Assistance and the knowledge of its procedures, which has led him to where he is now. A health enthusiast, Chris is also an active long distance runner and has taken part in many marathons.

Currently pursuing his PADI Divemaster Certification, Chris believes that knowledge should always be backed up with experience to be successful.

We at DSA believe that everybody can swim, regardless of age or physical condition. Our swimming programs are tailored to suit your individual abilities and we cater for both children and adults. All of our instructors are fully qualified and hold a recognized swimming instructor's certificate or an international equivalent. All of them possess a current life guard qualification, in addition to being qualified lifesaving instructors as well as being qualified First Aid and CPR instructors. We take your safety very seriously.

Additionally, many of our instructors are swimmers of the highest standard, swimming nationally and internationally, winning medals and setting records!

DSA instructors have a broad range of swimming experience. What unites them is their natural affinity with students and a love of the water. We regularly provide mandatory lectures and seminars for our instructors. These are often hosted by senior sports lecturers and ensure that our instructors are up-to-date on the very latest thinking and techniques associated with swimming and teaching.
