Don't know which dive course to take? Let me make it simple for you.
Discover Scuba Diving - Unsure if scuba diving is for you? Try it out in the pool under the supervision of an Instructor or Divemaster. In this one hour session you will learn some basic concepts and scuba skills and get to feel what it is like breathing compressed gas underwater.
Open Water Diver – If you want to drive a car (legally that is), you need a driving license. If you want to dive, you need an open water diver license. Reputable dive shops, centers and resorts centers will not let you dive unless you can show them one. You will learn all that you need to know about your equipment and safe diving practices. And unlike a driving license, you don’t have to renew your open water diver license every year, its good for life! You don’t need to do Discover Scuba Diving to take this course - if you know scuba is for you, you can jump straight in!
Advanced Open Water Diver – Want to explore the ocean at night? How about go deep right down to 30 meters? Practice your buoyancy? Use a compass to navigate underwater? Take the “Advanced” course and take your diving skills to the next level. Many dive operations will insist on a minimum of Advanced Open Water Diver level before taking you out on a night dive or to a more challenging dive site. Of course, you need to be an Open Water Diver before you can take this course.
Rescue Diver – My favorite course! A lot of people are apprehensive about taking this one, I think because they mistakenly believe that once completed they have an obligation to save others. You don’t, but if you did see someone in trouble wouldn’t you want to be able to help? What if it was your best friend, spouse or loved one who needs assistance? What then? Scuba is safe and chances are you will never ever face or see an emergency but by completing this course you will have the knowledge and confidence to act in case of one. You will learn CPR, first aid, and what to do to assist a panicked or unresponsive diver. You need to be an Advanced Open Water Diver in order to do this course.

So what about the other courses? 90% of our students will only take one or more of the courses that I listed. If you are interested in a specialty course or becoming a dive professional, you can find more information by clicking the image map above. Or you may always contact us for some friendly advice.
I hope to see you in the water.
